Waylon Joseph Smithers Jr., better known as "Mr. Smithers" or simply "Smithers", is a non-playable character in The Simpsons: Hit & Run. He is Mr. Burns' assistant and best friend, though they have been shown to dislike each other on many occasions.
Roles & Appearances[]
Smithers appears as a minor character throughout the game and is not heavily involved in the main story. However, he does make more appearances than his colleague, Mr. Burns. He appears in Level 3 as a pedestrian walking around the front of Mr. Burns' Casino, but he cannot be interacted with. The following list contains all of Smithers' appearances in missions:
Level 1[]
- Office Spaced - Homer is told by Marge that he is late for work and he has a workplace evaluation with Mr. Smithers. Fearing that Smithers will find his scorpion farm, Homer goes to the Krusty Burger by the cemetery to ask for help from Lenny, who tells Homer that he saw Smithers at the Kwik-E-Mart. Homer borrows the Plow King from Barney and heads over to the Kwik-E-Mart where Smithers is waiting in his convertible. Homer destroys Smithers' car and departs for work.
- Flowers By Irene (cutscene) - Smithers appears in the right of the angry mob at the Town Hall.
- The Fat and Furious - While talking to his friend Carl at the power plant, Homer sees Smithers driving off to warn Mr. Burns. Homer races Smithers to Mr. Burns' mansion, where he comes face to face with Burns and scolds him for everything.
Level 7[]
- Flaming Tires (Boss) - Homer finds Smithers outside the Kwik-E-Mart and pleads for his help, but Smithers is too busy looking for Mr. Burns' personal items and is having a brunch date. Homer collects the personal items and gives them to Smithers, which include a pair of sock garters, Doc Wunderstein's Tooth Powder and a "Yes, We Have No Bananas" vinyl record. Before Smithers could thank Homer, he awkwardly laughs and runs off, but Smithers lets him use his convertible anyway.
