Description Edit

Within the games level 2 mission folder "\scripts\missions\level02", there is a file called "e3m1i.mfk", that is never used in the actual level. However, if you open the file (using Notepad++), you can see that contents are somewhat close to that of the final Better Than Beef mission, with some slight differences. Apparently, this mission was used in the E3 demo according to the file name. Attempting to play it by replacing the normal mission file doesn't work, as the game simply crashes. This is due to the first line in the file reading "SelectMission("e3m1");", which seems to cause a conflict with the loading.

However, changing e3m1 to m5 so it reads "SelectMission("m5")" (Without the quotation marks at the beginning and end), and replacing it with the regular m5i.mfk file allows the mission to be playable, and is completable.

Differences:

The countdown at the start of the mission is completely missing.

The time provided is now much larger than the final version. You're given around three minutes, and the time you're given after completing a certain objective is now added to your time. As a result, the E3 version is much easier.

Apu's car AI is different. He instead uses the "Easycop" AI (directory: "Pursuit\Easycop.con") as opposed to having his own AI for this mission.

Better Than Beef's song for the pursuit when Apu arrives that is later heard again in This Little Piggy and Curious Curator doesn't play. Instead, Cletus' song continues to play throughout the whole mission.

You now have to talk to Cletus after you drive back to the Krusty Burger, as opposed to the conversation happening automatically.

Besides this, the dialogue and the actual mission objective remains the same.

Want to try it yourself? Follow the instructions above, and enjoy! I can also upload the edited mission file to try out for yourself.
