The Longhorn is an unlockable vehicle in The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Like all other player owned cars this vehicle may be accessed via phone booths at any time, on any level.

Description Edit

The Longhorn is a vintage American sports car painted golden-brown. A Texan longhorn skull is painted on the hood, and a bar secures the windshield to the back end of the vehicle. It makes a loud gnawing sound when driven, similar to the Obliteration Big Wheel Truck. Apu can be seen driving the vehicle in Level 7. The car bears a strong resemblance to the real life 1979 2nd generation Pontiac Firebird.

Appearances Edit

Apu owns the Longhorn, and usually accompanies any appearance of the Longhorn. in Level 2, the player must evade Apu before they can deliver the roadkill to the Krusty Burger. In Level 3, the player helps Apu knock the roadkill out of Cletus's truck before he can deliver it. The Longhorn then makes an appearance in the Level 4 circuit race. In Level 5, the player takes on the role of Apu, along with unlocking the Longhorn.

Trivia Edit

  • In the show, Apu's car was very different than the car seen in the game. It was painted red rather than golden-brown, donned the classic phoenix on the hood of the car, and retained the Firebird name. The name and design was changed from this in the game due to legal reasons.
  • Apu drives this vehicle only in Level 7, along with Bart and the Honor Roller/Ferrini - Red.
    • Apu makes an appearance in every level in the game, including Level 7, which is contradictory to how the developers of the chose when to show characters driving specific cars.
  • In Level 4 street races, Apu, along with the Longhorn, should be the character and car the player should race, but they only make an appearance in the circuit race. The player races Professor Frink and his Hover Car in the checkpoint race.
